DIFFICULTY DESCRIPTION

Long itinerary that requires good physical preparation. Especially at the beginning of the season, very often the upper part of the ascent road is covered with snow. Pay attention to the fall of loose stones from the many frequenters or from the thaw.

ASCENT DESCRIPTION

After the access to the Galleria del Castelletto at 2740 M, the road develops on the west side, north-west of the Tofana di Rozes. Characteristic of the route is the long climb and steep steps. The first exit from the Ferrata is at the junction of the 3 Dita at 2680 m. From here you will reach the Rif. Giussani in about 45 min. To reach the Top, you continue to the right for steps and past a tiring ramp, you reach the Anticima where the ferrata ends. Continue along tracks to reach the summit cross at 3225m.

DESCENT DESCRIPTION

The descent is along the way up to the Anticima, then you follow to the right along the normal road, indicated by blue signs. It descends through scree and ledges until the Giussani hut and then until the Dibona hut.

NOTES

Very interesting passage through the artifacts of the First Great War, the route is alpinstic and requires attention, especially in the presence of snow. Not to be underestimated for the length and the physical commitment required.

Alpine Guide’s advice

It is one of the most beautiful Via Ferrata in Cortina, its path is logical and well structured. It is long and tiring, but the view from the top satisfies all efforts. There is absolutely no need to miss in the curriculum of every Vie ferrata’s enthusiast. Leave early in the morning. Paolo Da Pozzo
