Dolomites – Tofana
Tofana di Mezzo
TOTAL TRAVEL TIME
From June to October (be aware of early or late snowfalls).
Usual equipment for Via Ferrata. In case of snow, provide suitable equipment.
From the Rifugio Dibona for trail 421 to Rif. Pomedes. From here you follow the path that by screed leads to the attack in correspondence of a channel on the east side of the Punta Anna.
Very exposed and airy, the street is suitable for the most experienced hikers. The access to the lifts allows to evaluate the degree of shape reached.
The path, exposed and at times very vertical, develops first for the east wall to continue then always for the south edge of the Punta Anna. In about 1 hour you will arrive to touch the top of the shoulder of Punta Anna. From here you can also continue by the ridge, in the direction of the third tower Pomedes, reaching first the Bus de Tofana and then the descent.
1st Descent for the scree of the Bus de Tofana: reached the trail 403 you go down until the Rif. Dibona (who climbed with lifts take the trail 421 for Rif. Pomedes).
2nd from the Bus de Tofana follow the path towards the station of the cable car until you meet the crossroad to trail G. Olivieri.
Ascent equipped only with fixed ropes, follows the vertical south edge of the Punta Anna. Of great satisfaction for its verticality and exposure, it is no less like beauty. To be reported for the more trained, the possibility to match it with other ways equipped for long crossings.
