EQUIPMENT
Usual equipment for Via Ferrata. In case of snow, provide suitable equipment.
ACCESS
From rifugio Averau follow the path that leads to the north. After a steep scree, you will find the starting point of the via ferrata, in correspondence of the northern gully of monte Averau.
DIFFICULTY DESCRIPTION
Short and not too difficult path. There are some vertical parts with steel cables. It is a good test to start with.
ASCENT DESCRIPTION
The passages are faced in rapid succession, including a chimney, which leads to the crest by stepped rocks. Then the equipped line proceeds for about 60 meters, successiverly the path comes out in the large basin, after that a short walk leads to nearby summit cross.
DESCENT DESCRIPTION
Trough the same path, back to rifugio Averau.
NOTE
This short via ferrata is often traveled toghether with via ferrata Ra Gusela to complete the loop of Nuvolau and Averau. From the summit there is a beautiful 360 degrees view on the surronding mountains: Pelmo, Civetta, Antelao e Sorapis.
