Normal via ferrata kit.
ACCESS
Along route 48 di Alemagna to Passo Falzarego, take the road to Rifugio Dibona. Park at the fork for rifugio Dibona and continue on foot to rifugio Duca d’Aosta. From Rifugio Duca d’Aosta follow the path signs for via ferrata ra Pegna, on the left side of Schuss de Tofana. Reach the starting point in less then 15 minutes.
DIFFICULTY DESCRIPTION
This itinerary offers the possibility of a good training field for beginners, following the natural rocky lines and ledges. It is not technically demanding, but it anyway needs the proper equipment and attention. The path is often friable, do not forget your helmet!
ASCENT DESCRIPTION
The ascent is along the eastern face of the rocky tower named ra Pegna. The iron pitons follow the natural line of the fractured rock, and in a short time you will be reaching the top at 2240 m. The itinerary does not have particular difficulties. After the summit, an iron ladder will take you downwards will take you to the end of this first ferrata. From there, just a few minutes walking distance on the west, you will start sentiero Astaldi.
DESCENT DESCRIPTION
After the summit, a descent leads to an iron ladder, after that, making a left towards west, in a few minutes you will be taken sentiero Astaldi. At the end of the iron cable, a short but steep descent will take you to rifugio Dibona. After that, following the dirt road, you will be at the fork with rifugio Duca d’Aosta, where the car is parked.
NOTE
Even if the itinerary is suitable for kids, it has to be done with the appropriate equipment and with prudence, especially with kids. Joined with sentiero Astaldi, it is a good choice in uncertain weather days.
