A nice itinerary with a little bit of safre adventure. A good starting point to get acquainted with the vie ferrate, but also a nice time to look around and enjoy the wonderful panorama. All the are is well served with mountain huts, and it is only a matter of choosing. Start with light supplies and stop many times in the various mountain huts!!! The vistas off the top of Mt Nuvolau and Averau  are next to none worldwide.

EQUIPMENT

Normal via ferrata full equipment. In case of snow, take suitable equipment.

ACCESS

Two possible accesses: from Passo Giau along path 443 or from Rifugio Cinque Torri always along path 443, but in the opposite direction.

DIFFICULTY DESCRIPTION

The sections equippe with the iron cable are short, but never banal. It is a good circuit to get to know and practice with via ferrata equipment.

ASCENT DESCRIPTION

The initial walk is simple, whether you start from the Giau pass or from the Cinque Torri refuge. The first part leads to Ra Gusela, with passages in chimneys and metal stairs. after the first section, walk on a rocky path up to the last equipped section of about 70 meters to reach the Nuvolau refuge. Short descent to the Averau refuge from where the ascent to Mount Averau begins.

DESCENT DESCRIPTION

Follow the ascent route to the starting point of rifugio Averau. Then along path 452 towards the Giau pass or if you started from the Cinque Torri refuge, follow path 439.

NOTE

Il This is the classical circuit of Nuvolau and Averau. From the summit of both Gusela and Mount Averau you can admire a full 360 degree panorama on Passo Falzarego, passo Giau mount Pelmo, Civetta, Antelao and Sorapis.
