A beautiful itinerary. The panorama is great along the whole ascent, and also your historical interests will be satisfied. It climbs the southern face of Monte Lagazuoi and even if the technical difficulty is not high, it is necessary to proceed with attention.
ACCESS
From Falzarego Pass, in front of the cable car station, there is trail nr.402 that climbs westward on a scree, encountering numerous reconstructions of the old barracks of the Great War. The path goes zigzag to the attack of the equipped path.
DIFFICULTY DESCRIPTION
Historic ring route that runs through the Kaiserjäger-occupied outposts in the Great War. Interesting the crossing of the suspension bridge. Descent along the gallery built by the Alpini.
ASCENT DESCRIPTION
From the beginning of the equipped path you climb up iron steps and you go through a system of ledges up to the suspension bridge about 10 m. and 25 m high. From here you come to an exposed ledge and then you climb along the trenches and meeting also well-preserved locations until you reach the famous ledge Martini. From here you climb westward to the trail that leads to the ridge and then to the top of the Piccolo Lagazuoi. From here you can see the refuge Lagazuoi reachable in 10 minutes.
DESCENT DESCRIPTION
From the cable car station, starts the path that, between the trenches, leads to the entrance of the tunnel. You lose altitude very quickly and come out of the gallery to walk a last stretch of ledge to return to the trail 402 and go back to the Falzarego pass.

The itinerary can also be travelled in the opposite direction.
